At the time, Trinity and Ryan were in the spring of their junior year of high school. Although, they did not attend the same high school. Quickly, Covid-19 took over and caused the whole country to pretty much shut down. Everyone had to be in quarantine and wear masks to stop the spread of Covid-19. Due to this, Trinity and Ryan both had to finish their junior year of high school online. At the time, one of Trinity's friends went to the same high school as Ryan. And one day, she invited him to come over to Trinity's house. This was when the future Mr. and Mrs. first laid eyes on each other. Trinity's dad took them out on the lake and they went kneeboarding and tubing. They had a blast out on the lake. But Ryan didn't get off the hook so easy. When they were done being on the lake, they walked up to the house. To Ryan's surprise, Trinity's mom grilled him with many tough questions that he was somehow able to answer. But that didn't drive him away. Instead, it was the start of a beautiful relationship with Trinity.
On the anniversary of when they first met, Ryan wanted to take Trinity somewhere with a beautiful view. What better view than the Jumping Off Rock in Sunset, South Carolina? It has an impeccable view of Lake Jocassee and truly shows how good God is! Although, there was only one downside. The night before and the day of the planned engagement, the weather app was saying that it was supposed to rain all day. Ryan prayed to the Lord that it wouldn't rain. But, Ryan led Trinity to think that they were just going to go there to take cool pictures, have a picnic, and dance. Trinity didn't really think anything of it since they did stuff like that all the time throughout their relationship. What Trinity didn't know was that her family and Ryan's family were on their way up to Jumping Off Rock with them. Everyone was using Apple Maps for directions to Jumping Off Rock. Now, Apple Maps only said it was an hour and 30 minutes away. They were doing great on time until they got closer to the final destination. Apple Maps wanted to take them through a private community that they weren't allowed to pass through. It was a shortcut to Jumping Off Rock, but they couldn't use it. Instead, Ryan tried to use Waze with the little service that he had since they were in the middle of nowhere. While he was doing that, they passed by Trinity and Ryan's families. Luckily, Trinity did not see them. Finally, Ryan was able to find an alternate route to Jumping Off Rock. The only downside was that it was another hour and thirty minutes away. At this time, Trinity and Ryan's families were trying to figure out what to do because Trinity's parents needed to pick up the kids from school, and Ryan's dad had to get some work done. The challenge was trying to inform Ryan about this without tipping Trinity off that something shady was going on. They tried texting Ryan. However, Ryan did not have any service because he was in the middle of nowhere again. Trinity and Ryan traveled for 10 miles on a gravel road called Horse Pasture Road to get to the Jumping Off Rock. It took them about an hour just on that one road. By the time they got to the Jumping Off Rock, Ryan got a little bit of service. He finally received the text messages that Trinity and Ryan's families tried to send him. They let him know to go ahead and do the engagement. The only downside was that Trinity's mom was going to take our pictures, but now they did not have a photographer. Also, Trinity's phone was dead and Ryan's was at 5%. Things weren't turning out as planned but the view was incredible and the weather was perfect even though it wasn't supposed to be. Ryan knew he had to act somewhat quickly. So, they march down to the lowest rock they could and they laid out the picnic blanket. Ryan takes out his speaker and asks Trinity what song she wants to play that they could slow dance to. She picked the song "Speechless" by Dan and Shay. It was the perfect song for the occasion because Ryan was truly speechless when he looked at Trinity. Ryan sets up his phone to video them dancing. They slow danced to the song and Ryan constantly expressed how thankful he was for having such an amazing and beautiful woman in his life. He said that the best decision he ever made in his life was when he started dating Trinity. However, he said that he was about to make a better decision. So, Ryan twirls Trinity and then gets down on one knee, to which he asks the question "Will you marry me?" Trinity was speechless. She started crying, which made Ryan start to tear up. Then Trinity said "Yes!" Then Ryan slips the ring onto her finger and she jumped into his arms. Shortly after, a pastor showed up and realized what had just happened to which he replied "We can do the ceremony right now." Obviously, he was joking about that part, but he congratulated them and got the opportunity to pray for their relationship. It was truly an amazing experience and they can't wait to see what the future holds for them.
