Ryan commented on Sophie's Hinge prompt "Typical Sunday" to which Sophie's answer was, "sleeping in & watching the Vikings." A few messages later, Ryan said to Sophie "Also, if you would like of course. My snap is (insert snap)! If not, that's totally okay just know the Vikings/49ers will be cursed for the next 25 years. Obviously, Sophie had to add him ;) After Ryan asked Sophie out on two dates, and canceled both times, on November 8, 2023, they went on their first date at Monks Ale House in Sioux Falls. Ryan had to work his butt off to win Sophie's heart. After making Duncan bring her cough drops + chocolate to her at her workplace when she was sick, leaving her a Christmas present before he flew back to Arizona, and bringing her to Stampede games, Sophie finally liked the idea of keeping Ryan around. Ryan asked Sophie to be his girlfriend at The Rabbit Hole, a speakeasy, in Omaha, NE on March 29, 2024. She obviously said yes ;)

Ryan proposed at The Star (the Dallas Cowboys' practice facility) on December 12, 2025. We were in Dallas for the Cowboys/Vikings game on December 14. It was a full circle moment as we met by initially talking about the Cowboys/Vikings. Ryan's POV: I think there was no bigger winner on this trip than Sophie since my Cowboys once again let me down. When we went to the Cowboys light show, and a giant blue Christmas tree was present, I knew this was the moment and background I would want for my Christmas miracle! I bought the ring when she was in Minnesota for work for a week (I knew these Trainmore's were good for one thing)! I kept the ring in my pocket all day, through the Cowboys stadium tour and JFK memorial tour, did not wear a hat. I even STRONGLY encouraged her to get her nails done prior to us going - I even offered to PAY for it, and somehow Sophie was still naive. The rest is history and I could have said anything I wanted to as she does not remember it at all. One of the best investments and decisions I have ever made in this life. Sophie's POV: There is video evidence - he's trying to pull me back in and tell me something while I'm pulling away from him so he can get his phone from these poor people taking our "picture." I actually have no idea what he said - it was something like "Wait, I have one more thing!" and all of the sudden, he was on one knee. I immediately started crying and blacked out a little. He whipped out a ring and somewhere in there I heard "I want to spend the rest of my life with you, will you marry me?" I obviously said yes ;)
