We met through Hinge, a dating app, and quickly bonded over our shared love for Marvel movies, chatting and FaceTiming daily. On our first date, we watched ‘Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’, and our conversation flowed so easily it felt like we’d known each other forever. After the movie, we continued our evening at a Mexican restaurant, deepening our connection with every story and laugh shared. It was the beginning of a beautiful journey that led us from a simple swipe on Hinge to our upcoming wedding.
The Ring Once I got approval on the style of ring the plan started forming. I had told Shai I was just going to look and get an idea, but little did she know I was actually picking it out. I went to the Jeweler to finalize the band and gem. After much deliberation the ring was chosen. The pickup date had been set and the next step of the Proposal was quickly approaching. The Setup Our trip up North was planned, we would be going to Sedona and Flagstaff for the weekend. This was the perfect setting as one of our first dates had been to Sedona. I had the plan set. We would drive to Sedona and get lunch at a fancy restaurant overlooking the city. After we ate I would suggest we take a "picture" with the overlook in the background, which would actually a video of the proposal. Proposal Day Everything was set and I had masterfully hidden the ring, my excitement was at an all time high and did my best to not draw attention to hiding spot in the truck while we drove. We had our plan. Get lunch, checkout potential wedding venues for the future, go sight-seeing in Sedona, and then head to Flagstaff. We had arrived at the restaurant and I had noticed there was not a good spot for a picture with the view. My nervousness was at an all time high my original plan needed some alterations. I thought one of our spots we would visit would be perfect, but Shai had pushed checking out the venues first. At this point I was having a small panic attack that we would not make it in time to our other destinations. We had arrived at the first venue, I had noticed a beautiful overlook on our way up and decided this would be the perfect spot. On our way out I pointed it out and said we have to get a picture. Now, Shai usually sets up our pictures on the tripod, so I had take charge. Under the guise of showing off my photography skills I went to setup the photo. Once it was set we had gotten into position. Little did Shai know there was actually a video being recorded and not pictures being taken. After a few "photos" it was time. I had proposed and she said, "YES!"
