Downtown Walterboro is full of small boutique shops, jewelry stores, restaurants, and antique shops. You can find something shiny and new or something old that is new to you!
This shop is full of art and goodies from artists across the state of South Carolina. From handmade facemugs and seaglass jewelry to a full wooden canoe, this place has something for everyone. It is a wonderful place to get unique gifts for yourself or for someone special in your life!
The Bride grew up going to this corner drug store for lunches and afterschool adventures with her brother and late grandmother. Hiott's has been apart of the brides hometown since 1938, and continues to serve the community as a local pharmacy and lunch counter. The bride recommends getting a toasted chicken salad sandwich with an original fountain coke and a chocolate milkshake for dessert!
This is a Walterboro staple, and one of the first places that the Bride's family took the groom when he visited her hometown. It is a local "all you can eat" barbecue place with amazing pulled pork and friend chicken. If you visit you have to take a picture on top of the pig out front!
A causal restaurant that the bride and her family frequent! They do wonderful fried founder, fried shrimp, and crab legs (the bride , her brother and her fathers favorite).
This the first beach that the bride and the groom visited together (and the groom got a little sunburnt). It is the beach that the bride grew up visiting every summer with her family and is one of her favorite places. If you like a relaxing day at the beach, this is the place to be! We recommend getting food at McConkeys Jungle Shack or Whaley's and finishing up with ice cream at 3 Gull's Creamery. Fun Fact: If you like the pictures of the Bride and Groom on the website, many of them were taken at this beach!
Botany Bay is a gorgeous piece of beach near Edisto. It is famous for being an "undisturbed beach", with no building permitted on the beach. Visitors are not allowed to take anything (including shells) from the beach. This has led to the trees on the beach being decorated with the large shells that the visitors find. The island is also full of history with two plantations being previously located on the property, with parts of buildings still standing. It is a bit of a walk to get to the beach, but it well worth it. We recommend going during low tide.
Charleston is a historic city full of many things to do and see. We recommend walking at the battery during the day or taking a ghost tour at night (the bride highly recommends this). The city is full of amazing places to eat, shop, and visit. Fun Fact: The bride is the only one in the family that can claim she is Charlestonian, as she was born on the Charleston peninsula.
If you want some true lowcountry style art, gifts, or souvenirs the Charleston Market is the place to go! The one of the brides favorites things from there is the sweetgrass roses.
Famous Seafood place in downtown Charleston! Has amazing shrimp and fried flounder.
This is a lovely place to walk around and visit. It is rich with history and has plenty of places to eat and shop. We recommend stopping in Savannah River Streets and getting a sample (or a whole box) of pralines.
The bride and groom went here on a date. We had a wonderful time learning about prohibitions and getting to pretend to be gangsters. The tour guides are dressed in period attire and give new light to the old prohibition story.
One of the restaurants that we went to while on a date in Savannah. If you are looking for a more upscale eatery, this is the place. We recommend the Crawfish Beignets and the Fried Green Tomato BLT.
Is one of the brides favorite restaurants in Savannah. It is a small authentic Italian place with a warm and inviting atmosphere. We recommend the Rigatoni Bunogustaro and the Fettucinne Alle Vongole.
