It all began at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where Roshe and I first crossed paths. She was a bright-eyed freshman, and I was a senior, focused on football, graduating, and my fraternity, Kappa Alpha Psi. At the time, I just wanted to be a guiding hand—making sure she felt at home in Nebraska and helping her find her footing on campus and in the community. We bonded over small moments—laughs at social hangouts, watching her poised to be a standout on the track as a true freshman, a club dance or two, and most memorably, cookies. Her mom’s care packages were legendary. I still remember the first bite of those cookies—warm, soft, and downright addictive. I jokingly called her mom my “pusha woman” because those cookies had me hooked! After I graduated, life took us in different directions, and for years, we lost touch. But as fate would have it, the universe had other plans. Through the magic of social media, we reconnected, and from that first conversation, it felt like no time had passed. We talked… and talked… and talked. For three years, our friendship blossomed across countless late-night calls and long conversations filled with laughter, reflection, and rediscovery. Somewhere along the way, friendship turned into something more. A foundation of love, trust, and cookies (of course) was built brick by brick. On November 24, 2022, with the permission of Walter and Patricia (Roshe's parents), we officially started dating. Two years later with their blessing, in the heart of Central Park, surrounded by the energy of New York, I asked Roshe to be my wife. On September 27, 2024, she said yes. And now, our greatest adventure is just beginning. We can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with you. See you on June 7th—bring your dancing shoes… and perhaps be prepared for a cookie or two!
