We met in college at a BBQ at Ryan's first apartment which quickly got busted up by the rain, so we holed up in the apartment's theater playing video games. Neither one of us was looking for anyone, but somehow the conversation turned towards anime and sparks started flying. We spent the rest of the night nerding out over our favorite Japanese cartoons and the rest is history. It just goes to show that the best things in life are the unexpected!

RJ and Ryan moved in together after a year. We were still in school; RJ finishing up a Bachelors in Biomedical Engineering, and Ryan just beginning her Nursing program. Through Graduations, Job Interviews, and all the growing we have done as adults, we wouldn't change any of it for the beautiful moments we got to share. We were together for the hard times, the great times, and the happy-cry times and this is just the beginning!

RJ proposed to Ryan at the stroke of Midnight on New Year's 2019. When we pulled up to his parents' driveway, there was a giant sign covered in tea lights saying, "Ryan Marry Me". As we walked up the drive RJ said, "I think it's about time we started a new adventure together." and began to kneel as the tears started coming, "Ryan, will you marry me?" and of course Ryan said "YES!" and as they kissed, fireworks started to go off all over the neighborhood. It was the first New Year's kiss we ever had.

We're sure a lot of people may wonder, "Why in the world are they getting married on a Tuesday morning?" First, June 18th is our anniversary, and we really wanted to keep the date! Second, we spend every anniversary we've had so far at Schlitterbahn and it sounded like the absolute coolest after-party idea ever to us! We love the idea of spending our fourth year together and our first day as a married couple surrounded by friends and family in our favorite place!
