Travel and Stay Information
Aspen itself has a lot of hotels in the area, and they are great! Some are closer than others, and as stated before offer shuttles. Please keep in mind, some hotels book at least 6 months out so the earlier you place your reservation the better. September can be a pretty busy month in Aspen, with tourist coming to view the Fall colors from allover Colorado as well as out of state guests. If hotels aren't for you, I also suggest VRBO, Airbnb, and Home Away. These sites list homes, cabins, condos, etc that may in fact suit you and your family better. I have also suggested to some that sometimes it may be cost effective to room with other families and split the costs. So for those that decide to want to stay with other family members, this may work for you. If Aspen is full, and you are okay with staying out of the area, there are a few small towns you can search for a place as well. I would stay around a 30 mile radius..
