Our Love Story

Like all modern love stories, ours began with a swipe. We met on Hinge and quickly bonded over our shared love of the outdoors. Our first date ended with a classic rom-com kiss in the rain. Since the first date, we’ve backpacked around the Pacific Northwest and have made some seriously long car rides together. Nothing tests a relationship like being in a car for 12+ hours together! Many know that one of our biggest milestone was one that happened right in our home. Merging our fur family of a cat and a dog with strong personalities and even stronger boundaries. Love requires patience, teamwork, hope, time, and effort. Conway and Lumos tested us to say the least but also showed us what our relationship was capable of. And we're back at it again with our two cats, Lumos and Twilight! While we love the outdoors and enjoying all that the PNW has to offer, we are homebodies at our core and couldn't be more in love with our home and neighborhood in Portland. During the day, we enjoy walking around our neighborhood and especially making a pitstop at Posie's for lunch. Ryan can often be found out in the garden tending to the vegetables and plants he's been nurturing. Nikki loves to walk around listening to podcasts and chat with her follow neighbors. We each have our creative corners where we play guitar/make music (Ryan) and paint watercolor landscapes (Nikki). In the evening, you can find us making dinner together (often Nikki's famous Cesar salad!), dancing in the living room, and watching a silly dating reality show. As for the proposal... there wasn’t one. Not in the traditional "down-on-one-knee with a ring" kind of way. We've been talking about marriage, what we want in life, what our future looks like, our goals, and even the pros and cons of throwing a wedding/getting married. On a normal weekend eating lunch at Norah, we were talking about it and agreed that Summer 2026 felt right and then shook on it. So we got "engaged" without ever really getting engaged, which feels pretty perfect for us. We can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with the people we love!
