We have made the difficult decision to cancel our wedding festivities for now due to the situation with COVID-19. We will be having a private ceremony with only immediate family, but hope that after this global crisis has passed, we will all be able to celebrate together. We're very sad that we won't be able to see all of you this year, but wish everyone good health and happiness until we meet again.

Our love story began with a right swipe. Yup...Nikhil and Ryan are a Tinder success story! #NikhilSwipedRy After living in Beirut and the Middle East for several years, Ryan accepted a job at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and moved to Atlanta in the fall of 2017. Nikhil, having decided to leave a doctoral program in Boston, moved back to Atlanta in February 2018. Less than a month later, Nikhil was swiping on Tinder when he came across the profile for a boyishly handsome man with a hip mustache - Ryan. He swiped right & was thrilled to see that they had matched. After chatting for a bit on the app, Ryan asked Nikhil to meet him for a drink on Monday night. They decided to meet at the Westside’s Little Trouble, a cute, futuristic-themed bar reminiscent of Blade Runner. Over several cocktails they realized they had many shared interests including a love of travel, similar taste in Netflix reruns (ex. Friends, The West Wing, etc.), ethnic food, and their furbabies (Lily & Maize). They were having so much fun they ended up strolling over to Jeni’s to get some ice cream, and then Nikhil offered Ryan a ride home. The night ended with a kiss. The next day, Nikhil & Ryan were messaging back and forth when Ryan casually mentioned that he was going to the Fox Theater to watch a musical and happened to have an extra ticket. Nikhil jumped at the chance not only to see the show, but to see Ryan once again. In less than 24 hours, they went on their second date. By the time the show ended, they knew they had something special. Over the next 13 months, Nikhil & Ryan tried many new recipes in the kitchen, traveled together to NYC, CA, and TX, drank perhaps too many bottles of wine, moved in together, met each others’ families, and rewatched all 10 seasons of Friends at least three times. They discussed getting engaged during a planned trip to Paris in May and had picked out matching platinum wedding bands.

But in April, Nikhil, returning from a work trip to Guinea, was surprised to meet Ryan outside the condo wearing a suit. When Nikhil asked Ryan why he was wearing a suit, Ryan responded “If my man coming back from Africa isn’t a reason to wear a suit, I don’t know what is.” Nikhil, exhausted from jetlag, thought nothing of it. When Nikhil opened the condo door, he found the place filled with candles and rose petals on the floor. Ryan walked Nikhil to the living room, got down on one knee and, giggling with nervousness, popped the question! As we all know, Nikhil said “Yes!” and the rest, as they say, is history! We can’t wait for this next chapter in our lives to begin and we are so excited to celebrate our love story with y’all!
