A Solemn High Mass is a Catholic Mass celebrated in the form used universally throughout the Church until the Second Vatican Council. We love the traditional Mass because of its beautiful solemnity which lifts the heart and mind to God. Among the key elements of this liturgy are the use of the Latin language, Gregorian chant, and moments of prayerful silence. For those unfamiliar with the Latin Mass, there is no need to be intimidated. Just enjoy the beauty and mystery of this ancient celebration! (And just think... there's a chance your parents or grandparents were married according to this rite!)
We're very grateful for all of the help and support we've received as we transition into this new phase of life. Please note, however, that the return address on the invitations is no longer Nicole's address! So if you intend to send any cards, gifts, etc., it's best to use this address: 777 Plymouth Street Bridgewater, MA 02324
Yes! We would love to celebrate with you and your children. At the reception, there will be plenty of green space outside for children to play (weather permitting).
Parking at St. Mary's can be challenging from time to time. There is a school parking lot next door, but we will not be able to use the school lot because school will be in session. (The children will be out to play when the wedding is starting!) Street Parking: Barton Street, Broadway, and Bainbridge surround the church property and are available. Bainbridge is one-way and parking is available on left side only. Church Parking Lot: The parish shares a parking lot with the apartment building (our previous convent) next door. St. Mary’s uses about half of the spaces. Those spaces face the side of the church and the back and side of the rectory and are indicated with blue lines.
Good question... We chose Monday because: 1) there wasn't an available Saturday or Sunday that worked well for us in the late summer/early fall; 2) we didn't want to get married in the winter; 3) we wanted to get married on a special feast day dedicated to Mary. September 15 is the Feast of the Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and we intend to consecrate our marriage to her. We apologize if Monday is an inconvenient day for some, and we certainly understand if you can't make it. You'll be missed!
