Well... We almost didn't meet. Melanie accidently gave Ryan the wrong phone number and forgot about their first date and had to cancel a few hours before. Luckily, Ryan gave Melanie a second chance and we finally had our first date. We had drinks at a brewery called The Pump House in Rock Hill, SC and talked the night away. We immediately clicked and things just felt right. We talked so long that we closed down the brewery. We didn't want the night to end, so we continued talking on the bench swing in front of the river where we shared our first kiss. We quickly made plans for a second date where Melanie invited Ryan to the local Greek festival. Ryan showed up a fashionable 3 hours late and we were on our way. We had so much fun we made plans for our third date a few days later. Our next date was at the White Water Center in Charlotte, NC. We white water rafted, zip lined, and opened our hearts over craft brews. It was in this moment that Ryan asked Melanie to be his date for his sister Alex's wedding the following weekend. Melanie told Ryan she would under one condition... that she meet his sister and Alex would need to invite her to the wedding. Melanie joined Alex, Chris, and Ryan's Taco Tuesday night and officially met the first of Ryan's family. Melanie was welcomed with open arms and Alex put her at ease by letting her know Alex and Chris (Alex's then fiancée now husband) had a family wedding as an early date in their relationship too and that it must be good luck since they were about to get married. Melanie watched Ryan walk down the aisle as a groomsman in Chris and Alex's wedding and Melanie secretly hoped that one day she and Ryan would share vows of their own.
