If the weather is nice, check out this beautiful, 5-mile paved trail from Hood River to Mosier. It's great for biking or walking. The best viewpoints are closest to the Mosier side, which also has a parking area and trailhead.
This is the Mosier side of the Mark O. Hatfield Trail.
The classic Hood River brewery has good food and excellent views too.
Hood River has so many amazing wineries these days that it's hard to know where to start. Marchesi is located in a beautiful setting. If you love wine, there are several wineries in Mosier, Underwood, and Lyle as well.
If the weather is nice and the winds not too strong, Tom McCall has the most beautiful views around. There is a viewpoint, a fairly flat trail, and a steeper trail here, so there's something for nature lovers of all stripes.
The Discovery Center is a great place to visit in the fall or winter if the weather is poor - or if you just love museums! Lots of local and geological history, as well as beautiful grounds and a nice paved trail.
This is actually the restaurant at the Best Western. Besides excellent food, it is the only restaurant in Hood River that is located right at the waterfront. It has beautiful views. It's one of our favorite places to have dinner with family and friends.
If it's not too windy, there is a nice trail along the waterfront. There's also a great playground if you have kids.
If Highway 35 is clear, Timberline is a pretty awesome destination. You'll be literally ON Mt. Hood and they have a great (but a bit pricey) restaurant. This is a 45-minute drive.
Like hard cider? Try Foxtail!
Mosier is where we live, and Mosier Company is our restaurant! Great food & drink, great people.
