Things To Do

What is there not to do in Hood River? From wineries and breweries to hiking and biking trails, we've got it all! If you've got some extra time, we hope you'll take advantage of the low tourism season to do some exploring.

Historic Columbia River Highway State Trail | Mark O. Hatfield West Trailhead

Hood River, OR 97031
, (541) 374-8811

If the weather is nice, check out this beautiful, 5-mile paved trail from Hood River to Mosier. It's great for biking or walking. The best viewpoints are closest to the Mosier side, which also has a parking area and trailhead.

Mosier Twin Tunnels

Mosier, OR 97040
, (541) 387-4010

This is the Mosier side of the Mark O. Hatfield Trail.

Full Sail Brewing Company

506 Columbia Street, Hood River, OR 97031
, (541) 386-2247

The classic Hood River brewery has good food and excellent views too.

Marchesi Vineyards & Winery

3955 Belmont Drive, Hood River, OR 97031
, (541) 386-1800

Hood River has so many amazing wineries these days that it's hard to know where to start. Marchesi is located in a beautiful setting. If you love wine, there are several wineries in Mosier, Underwood, and Lyle as well.

Tom McCall Preserve

Mosier, OR 97040

If the weather is nice and the winds not too strong, Tom McCall has the most beautiful views around. There is a viewpoint, a fairly flat trail, and a steeper trail here, so there's something for nature lovers of all stripes.

Columbia Gorge Discovery Center & Museum

5000 Discovery Drive, The Dalles, OR 97058
, (541) 296-8600

The Discovery Center is a great place to visit in the fall or winter if the weather is poor - or if you just love museums! Lots of local and geological history, as well as beautiful grounds and a nice paved trail.

Riverside

1108 East Marina Drive, Hood River, OR 97031
, (541) 386-4410

This is actually the restaurant at the Best Western. Besides excellent food, it is the only restaurant in Hood River that is located right at the waterfront. It has beautiful views. It's one of our favorite places to have dinner with family and friends.

Hood River Waterfront Park

650 Portway Avenue, Hood River, OR 97031
, (541) 387-5201

If it's not too windy, there is a nice trail along the waterfront. There's also a great playground if you have kids.

Timberline Lodge and Ski Area

27500 E Timberline Road, Government Camp, OR 97028
, (503) 272-3311

If Highway 35 is clear, Timberline is a pretty awesome destination. You'll be literally ON Mt. Hood and they have a great (but a bit pricey) restaurant. This is a 45-minute drive.

Fox Tail Cider & Distillery

2965 Ehrck Hill Drive, Hood River, OR 97031
, (541) 716-0093

Like hard cider? Try Foxtail!

Mosier Company

904 2nd Avenue, Mosier, OR 97040
, (541) 705-0302

Mosier is where we live, and Mosier Company is our restaurant! Great food & drink, great people.
