Alli might say they became friends freshman year of college, but Mattie would argue it wasn’t until we became roommates sophomore year in Grand 405. From then on, they lived together for three years and truly did all of college side by side. Mattie and Alli even quarantined during COVID together, TWICE! Since then, they have remained close friends and see each other whenever possible.

Amber may be one of Mattie’s newer friends, but she is just as special. For the past year and a half, she has led their Monday night women’s Bible study. Amber and her husband Riley (a groomsmen) have always been quick to open their home to Mattie and Ryan, giving them space to chat for hours.

Not only did hailey and Mattie grow up together, they also went to college together too! Their friendship blossomed through their church and their first hangout together at Skate City in East Moline in 2013. Ever since then, they have been soul sisters and can’t imagine life without each other! Together, been dreaming about this day together for as long as they can remember and it’s finally here.

Mattie’s earliest friend and incredibly near to her heart. Mattie met Jordyn when she was just 6 years old. They have been friends for a full 20 years and 16 of those years have been long distance. Although far a part, Jordyn has been a part of each chapter of Mattie’s life & one of her biggest supporters.

Keaira and Mattie had their first jobs together at Whitey’s Ice Cream in high school but did not truly connect until after college when Mattie moved home to the Quad Cities. Keaira invited Mattie to a Bible study and somewhere along the line they began doing nearly everything together. Keaira received many voice notes from Mattie in her early days with Ryan and was also the first call moments after the bride & groom’s first date.
Maddi Cartier

Maddi and Mattie became friends through the same Bible study as Keaira and quickly bonded. They have spent so much time kayaking, practicing yoga, and even running together. Maddi is a dependable friend who always goes the extra mile. Mattie always knows she can count on Maddi.
Olivia Brown

Liv lived on the same floor as Mattie their freshman year of college in Williams Hall, and the two were inseparable by second semester. Not only do they look alike, they also share similar interests and backgrounds. Liv is someone who always keeps it real and is a softie at heart.
Sarah Wollerman

Sarah came into Mattie’s life in 2019, thanks to Allison brining her along as a roomate, and quickly became one of her best friends. From helping Sarah plan her wedding to taking long road trips and traveling through Europe together, they’ve shared countless memories. Sarah is the person Mattie calls for anything, whether she needs support or a good laugh.
Patrick Sandness

Ryan’s older brother, Patrick has been by Ryan’s side since the literal beginning. They did have their fair share of brotherly fights and quarrels as brothers do, but Patrick guided Ryan into manhood with his invaluable advice only he could give. Patrick and Ryan love a good conversation about the stock market or reminiscing about growing up on 5 acres in the country. As they’ve gotten older, Patrick has shown Ryan what it takes to be a loving husband and father of two beautiful nieces.
Zac Robinson

Zac and Ryan first met their freshman year at St. Ambrose University and eventually became roommates their junior and senior year. Even after graduation, there were still plenty of trips to get Mexican food at Azteca 4 in Davenport. There is always a good chance you can find Zac and Ryan together watching a Hawkeye game outside on a patio somewhere.

Alex was one of the first people Ryan met at Coram Deo Bible Church in Davenport. An Iowa Hawkeye alum, Alex and Ryan soon bonded over their shared love of Chicago sports. Alex eventually led a men’s group through Coram Deo’s college ministry which Ryan was a part of. Alex is truly a kind-spirited person and always a willing listener.

Another member of Coram Deo Bible Church’s college ministry, Jared was another leader of Ryan’s men’s group. Getting to know Jared, you can instantly see his energy and genuine compassion for people. It was no different for Ryan, as they quickly connected outside of church. You can find Jared and Ryan talking about sports or deep in discussion about anything in particular.

As Amber’s husband, Riley and Ryan got to know each other as Ryan and Mattie’s relationship grew. Riley and Amber have opened their home up many times for guests which highlights how selfless and caring they are. It was here Ryan and Riley quickly got to know each other, whether in the kitchen, around the grill, or sitting by a bonfire.

It was almost inevitable Ryan and Garrett became good friends since his wife Keaira and Mattie are so close. A massive LSU fan, there is always discussion about college football. Garrett goes above and beyond for his friends on top of being an ever-present father and husband.
