Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Ryan Shaaban and Marley Vebares
Checking out Chi-Town? Here are some of our favorite places in the city.

Kasama

1001 North Winchester Avenue, Chicago, IL 60622

If you can beat the line or don't mind a wait, this is one of the best Filipino spots in the City. We highly recommend stopping by for their famous breakfast sandwiches (featured in The Bear) and the ube basque cake, which is our personal go to order every time.

Bayan Ko Diner

1820 West Montrose Avenue, Chicago, IL 60613

This is an awesome local diner that’s close to our venue and very easy to get to by train. It’s a convenient spot to grab a tasty bite if you’re looking to stay local to the wedding festivities and explore the surrounding neighborhoods!

Dark Matter Coffee - Osmium Coffee Bar

1117 West Belmont Avenue, Chicago, IL 60657

This is Ryan's favorite coffee roaster in the city, and while the Osmium lounge has plenty of space to hang out, we recommend visiting "The Mothership" location on Western Avenue. It’s where you can see the actual roastery and explore the neighborhood Ryan called home when he lived in Chicago.

Hoosier Mama Pie Company

1618 West Chicago Avenue, Chicago, IL 60622

If you’re feeling adventurous and want to see Evanston where Ryan grew up, you can hop on the train and head north to this personal favorite. We usually stop by whenever we're in town to grab a coffee and a slice of pie, but they also serve a great lunch!

Hop Butcher For The World

4257 North Lincoln Avenue, Chicago, IL 60618

If you’re looking to grab some "grog" (beer), this is one of Ryan’s absolute favorite breweries in the city. Located in the neighborhood north of our venue, they specialize in incredible hazy IPAs and always have a rotating list of fresh, uniquely Chicago-inspired brews on tap.

Lula Cafe

2537 North Kedzie Boulevard, Chicago, IL 60647

This is a wonderful breakfast and lunch spot in Logan Square, the neighborhood where Ryan used to live. It is known for its inventive, market-driven menu and serves one of the most popular brunches in the city.

Chef’s Special Cocktail Bar

2165 North Western Avenue, Chicago, IL 60647

This was a fantastic local spot we'd go to when Ryan lived in Chicago and it remains a go-to for a great dinner and even better cocktails. It’s a fun, retro-style place that serves amazing American-Chinese classics.

Chicago Cultural Center

78 East Washington Street, Chicago, IL 60602

This is a spot Ryan always visits when he's in the city, and it’s conveniently located right across the street from Millennium Park. It is a stunning, free destination where you can explore rotating local art exhibits and stand beneath the world’s largest Tiffany glass dome.

Chicago Riverwalk

Chicago, IL 60601

The Chicago Riverwalk is one of the best spots for a downtown stroll, stretching from the lakefront all the way through the heart of the city. It acts as a great connector for exploring and offers some of the most iconic skyline views you'll find in Chicago.

Navy Pier

600 East Grand Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611

While it’s definitely a tourist classic, the pier is worth a visit for the incredible views of the skyline and Lake Michigan. It’s a great place to take a breezy lakefront walk or catch one of the many sightseeing boat tours that depart from the docks.
