It all started on Hinge… Madie had created an account in an effort to get back out there! And Ryan had been perusing the apps, looking for the woman of his dreams. They ended up matching and struck up a conversation that led to Ryan asking Madie out to dinner. Madie agreed, and when Ryan tried to schedule a date and time, Madie got cold feet, and deleted the app entirely! Two weeks later, Madie went to Mariners Church to a Rooted celebration and who else did she see there except Ryan in the flesh! Her awkwardness was too much to bear that she hid from Ryan the entire night, successfully avoiding any form of eye contact! Her efforts to go unnoticed continued on for nine months, although she observed Ryan from afar at various church events! One fateful night in March 2022, both Ryan and Madie decided to attend Mariners 20s/30s group and it was there that their eyes locked across the room. After months of avoiding, Madie knew that Ryan finally saw her and recognized her! Feeling a bit too nervous to approach, Ryan took to Mighty Networks, the 20s/30s group chat, to find Madie’s name and look her up on Instagram! He slid into the DM’s and told Madie that he saw her at church, and would love to take her to dinner still if she would be up for it! His persistence and straightforwardness intrigued Madie and she agreed! That dinner turned into many more moments together, making it official after a few weeks. These days you can find them trying new restaurants, competing in card games, playing pickle-ball, and hanging with friends at church! Now, after two years of dating, they are excited to get married, and start their life together!
