Q & A

Question

What date should I rsvp by?

Answer

We ask that you RSVP by Friday, May 1st, so that we can have a final guest count for seating!

Question

Can I take photos at your wedding?

Answer

We are asking that our guests DO NOT have their phones out at the ceremony and remain present with us during one of the most important moments of our lives! We will have a team of photographers who will take beautiful photos for us, so you don't have to - and they will be shared once we receive them! During the cocktail hour and reception, take as many photos as you would like!

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

We’d love for guests to dress in formal attire — think suits, nice dresses, or dressy separates. Feel free to elevate your look, but no need for tuxedos or ballgowns! Since the ceremony will take place in a Catholic church, we kindly ask for respectful attire: no shorts, blue jeans, immodest clothing, or casual outfits. Ladies, please don't wear white or close to white. We want to keep it classy for the celebration and for beautiful pictures :)

Question

Will there be a full Catholic Mass?

Answer

Yes! As Catholics, the high point of our wedding day is the wedding liturgy, where we will enter into the lifelong covenant of marriage through the Sacrament of Matrimony. We will then be blessed to begin our new life together by receiving the True Presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist, the source and summit of our faith. The full ceremony will be about an hour to an hour and a half in length.

Question

Can I receive Holy Communion if I'm not Catholic?

Answer

We are so grateful you’re here to celebrate with us, and everyone is welcome to attend our wedding ceremony! In keeping with the teachings of the Catholic Church, we ask that only practicing Catholics who are properly prepared receive Holy Communion. We believe the Eucharist is truly the Body and Blood of Christ, and receiving it reflects a shared unity of faith. If you are not Catholic or not practicing, we invite you to remain seated or come forward with your arms crossed for a blessing.

Question

Can I bring plus one to your wedding?

Answer

For the ceremony and dance, anyone is free to come! However, for the reception dinner, we have limited seating. As much as we would love to invite everyone we've ever met (or have not met) to celebrate this day with us, we have reserved the dinner seating for our closest friends and family. The guests that we reserve seats for will be specified on the RSVP, so there is no confusion! Time and location details can be found on the 'Schedule' page.

Question

Will there be a time gap/cocktail hour between the ceremony and reception?

Answer

Yes! There will be roughly two and a half hours between the ceremony and the reception dinner. It takes about 25 minutes to drive from the ceremony to the reception, and we will have a cocktail hour during that time at the reception location (Kacena Farms) as well! Time and location details can be found on the 'Schedule' page.

Question

Where and when is the cocktail hour?

Answer

The cocktail hour and the reception are both at Kacena Farms! The cocktail hour will follow the ceremony and will go from about 3:30pm - 6pm.

Question

Where should I park at the ceremony and reception?

Answer

There is enough parking available for all guests at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and Kacena Farms! Time and location details can be found on the 'Schedule' page.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

There will be a cash bar, but no open bar. We will have drink tickets for everyone to have one free drink, but after that, guests can buy drinks at the bar! Remember to bring your ID if you're 21+ and would like to drink!

Question

What time will the wedding reception end?

Answer

The dance will go until around 11 pm. Soon after, the Kacena Farms staff will start to tear down. Guests are free to stay and talk while everything is being torn down if they'd like!
