Freshmen year at Oregon State, the two of us happened to run into each other at Bing's Café in Weatherford Hall. After that we ended up going our separate ways for the next few years. Ironically, our paths met again on Halloween junior year. It was clear as day to both of us that God had a plan for us. A few dates later and an Oregon State/Oregon Civil War Game we decided to make it official. Over three years together now, we have been through the stress of college, jobs, deaths in the family, moving, long-distance, a world-wide-pandemic (for the majority of our time together), meanwhile continually trying to figure out how to be an adult and grow our relationship. Something we had in common that has guided us along the way, are the great role models we have in our lives for what a strong marriage is. Ryan's parents have been married now for thirty years, and Maclayne' s parents have been married for forty years. The common themes we've taken to heart from them are the importance of honesty, communication, and God in every aspect of our relationship.
The two of us travelled down to Medford on Spring Break of 2020 for a week vacation to visit Maclyane's family. Like the rest of you, little did we know a worldwide pandemic would completely change our foreseeable plans. We extended our stay at the Adamson's, meanwhile we both went to school and Ryan began working full time for Outlier Construction. Ryan graduated in June of 2020 with a degree in Construction Engineering Management, and Maclayne graduated the following year with a degree in Communication. Maclayne is currently working as a Marketing Assistant for NewsWatch 12, and Ryan is still working as a Project Manager with Outlier. We live together with Janey Kenyon (Maid of Honor) and Brad Allen (Groomsman) in a townhouse in Medford.
We are beyond excited to see everyone's faces in Central Point, OR! The reason we are choosing not only Central Point, but the Adamson's property is because of what will be built there soon. With the help of a few friends on the weekend and the Adamson's, we spent the better half of three weekends carefully taking apart a hundred year old barn for the reclaimed wood. Over the next few months, we will be building a new barn on the property overlooking Mount Mcloughlin and the beautiful Rogue Valley. It's a work in progress at the moment, but we are excited to share the final product with everyone.
