After being relatively new to Chicago and away from her friends in Texas, Macey decided to start a Meetup group to make new friends in the city. Ryan, also fairly new to the city, attended the first Meetup event she ever hosted! - We bonded briefly that night over pizza and McDonald's french fries. We became friends for a little over a year but quickly fell for each other one night out dancing at one of our favorite country music bars. A week later we went on our first "official" date and the rest is history!

Ryan popped the question on June 7, 2019! The proposal included candles, rose petals, and sparkly letters on our apartment wall that read "Will You Marry Me?!" It was an amazing moment we will never forget. We celebrated after at Geja's - a famous, incredibly romantic fondue restaurant that has become one of our favorite spots in Chicago.
