Yacht rock is a broad music style that originated in Southern California in the 1970s and 1980s. Characteristics of Yacht rock include smooth melodies, clean vocals, and high-quality production. It often blends elements of jazz, R&B, and disco, and is more musical than lyrical. Some artists commonly associated with yacht rock include: Fleetwood Mac, Steely Dan, The Doobie Brothers, Michael McDonald, Boz Scaggs, Hall & Oates, Gerry Rafferty, Rupert Holmes, Christopher Cross, & Toto. Yacht Rock Revue is a band who covers Yacht Rock songs, so they will play songs from a variety of artists from that genre. Believe us, they are talented musicians and their concerts are a lot of fun!
General admission is standing room only, however the House of Blues Anaheim will be able to set aside some ADA seating for guests who need it. Please note on your RSVP if you will require seating.
The concert is all ages and relatively family friendly! Parents may want to consider that there will be alcohol consumption, bad dancing, and adults clinging to their youth :-) Ear protection is typically recommended for kids.
