10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Arriving in Vermont Early? Join Lily (Ryan will be at his bachelor party) for a beach hangout day at North Beach, in Burlington! Lily is planning to hang out there from around 10am-3pm but feel free to show up at any time and stay as long as you would like. This is a super informal/unplanned event so plan ahead and bring anything you would typically like to have for a beach day (towels, sunscreen, food, drinks, etc). Recommended Parking: North Beach Parking Area (44.492861, -73.240362) is a paid lot but is very conveniently located directly next to the beach.
11:00 am
We will be hosting a group run (an important tradition among many of Ryan’s Michigan State Friends). If you would like to participate in any capacity, please meet at Burlington Waterfront Park (44°28'37.2"N 73°13'16.5"W) by 11am Friday morning. There will be a ~9min pace group as well as a group running at a slower pace and a walking group so everyone can find something that fits their pace! The route is an out and back along the water (paved) with an optional extension (singletrack) to Lone Rock Point where Ryan and Lily got engaged. Recommended parking: 4 College St, Burlington, VT 054014 College St, Burlington, VT 05401 (fills up but street parking or other parking lots are fine too).
3:30 pm
The technical dress code is somewhere between garden party and outdoor semi-formal.
For women this includes anything from longer, more formal outfits all the way to light, floral dresses, while men are welcome to choose between a tie or a blazer/suit jacket but no need for a full suit. For everyone, something breezy would be best since it will likely be a warm day. No colors are off-limits, so have fun!
4:00 pm - 11:00 pm
The ceremony will be directly followed with a cocktail "hour" and dinner served by Caja Madera, a local taco truck. Celebrations and dancing will last into the night!
1:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Weather dependent: there will be a float on the Winooski River starting at 1pm for anyone interested! Please make sure you make your own arrangements ahead of time for a tube for yourself and try to carpool as parking is limited. Also, feel free to float in a canoe, kayak, paddle board, or anything else if that sounds better to you. Details: We will be putting in under the south side of the Jonesville bridge (44.382702, -72.937867). There is parking along Cochran road, just after the bridge. Try to have a backup plan in case this is full! Our planned exit point is at the Richmond Bridge (the first bridge after we put in). Public parking is available at the Volunteers Green in Richmond (44.402114, -72.996600) so please plan to leave a car there for transport back to the start. Finally, PLEASE prepare by bringing water and sunscreen. We expect the float to take ~2-3 hours depending on the speed of the river. Feel free to bring any additional beverages or food you would like as well.
