The free Capitol tour is SO much fun. Highly recommend for a nice dose of DC history.
Remember our fallen heroes at the most famous and beautiful cemetery. Be sure to visit the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Somber and impactful.

Ryan's favorite museum - especially the dinosaurs.
Lexie's favorite museum - engineering nerd :)
Such a cute area to walk around and shop! The main street to walk through is M Street NW, but the neighborhood and Dumbarton Oaks are super charming and less chaotic. We love The Sovereign for a Belgian beer.
If you're wanting to see some beautiful nature, we highly recommend Great Falls! The Virginia side is a very short walk to the falls, with the Maryland side offering a longer walk through more nature and more falls! Great Falls gets crowded, so we recommend going as early as possible, enjoying the view, and then getting the heck out of there.
Where Ryan proposed to Lexie. Be sure to check out Mary's garden. Lexie spent a lot of time here during college with her late best friend Lindsey, making this proposal spot even more special.
Our first date spot - great for a visit after Mary's Garden/the Basilica.
Fun for a tour and a great little neighborhood nearby! The Nationals are away at the Diamondbacks for our wedding weekend, so sneak over to Navy Yard for a way less chaotic baseball vibe. We recommend The Bullpen for a beverage, or Silver Diner for delicious food.
If you're in the area of the Basilica and Catholic University, this is a must see! See relics of JPII and a history of his life in this beautiful museum and church.
Alexandria is such a cute little city! Cobblestones and brick homes galore. Explore the area and be sure to stroll along King Street down to the waterfront.
AMAZING coffee.
