Things To Do

The Pinnacle Hike

121 Christian St, New Preston, CT 06777, New Preston, CT 06794

This is our absolute favorite hike in the Washington area. Plus, it's right by our house!

Arethusa Creamery

822 Bantam Rd, Bantam, CT 06750

Arethusa ice cream is simply the best. The milk is from award-winning dairy cows who live on a gorgeous farm in Litchfield, CT. The milkshakes are to die for, but even just a simple waffle cone is incredible. Make sure to just order 1 scoop of ice-cream which always turns out to be 3.

Arethusa a mano

833 Bantam Road, Litchfield, CT 06750
, (860) 567-5722

A coffee shop with a wide variety of pastries, bagels, breakfast sandwiches, and light lunch options.

Hickory Stick Bookshop

2 Green Hill Road, Washington, CT 06793
, (860) 868-0525

The sweetest little bookstore. My mom used to bring Siobhan and I here all the time when we were little.

Hidden Valley Preserve

198 Bee Brook Road, Washington, CT 06794
, (860) 868-9131

Beautiful place for a walk along Shepaug River.

Hidden Valley Eatery

88 Bee Brook Road, Washington, CT 06794
, (860) 619-0660

One of our favorite breakfast spots!

J Seitz & Co

9 East Shore Road, Washington, CT 06777
, (860) 868-0119

Expensive but fun to walk around and browse.

Hopkins Vineyard

25 Hopkins Road, Warren, CT 06777
, (860) 868-7954

Enjoy wine tasting and a cheese plate with a beautiful view of Lake Waramaug. ** Hopkins Inn is where Pappy used to take Siobhan and I for our "special dinner" and we'd always order the escargot.

For all the days along the way
