Katie and Ryan met in the summer of 2014 through work. Katie sells medical devices and at the time, Ryan worked for a Cardiology office as the device manager. Katie, as a new employee went in to meet Ryan as he worked with her devices. They were introduced, shook hands, and both had a twinkle in their eyes from the other. About a month later Katie hosted a happy hour event for Ryan's office in which he was the only one who attended among Katie and several of her colleagues. They sat next to each other at the event and realized that they had similar interests but more importantly chemistry. It took Ryan a little while to muster the courage but he finally asked Katie out on a date and on August 9th they had their first date which both describe as a Grand Slam! Their next date was only a few days later, then another few days ...and another..

In March 2019 Katie and Ryan went to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to celebrate Katie's 30th birthday. They spent the week hiking insane heights, boat hopping from different islands, sight seeing Christ The Redeemer another World Wonder for their books and making new friends. They spent a beautiful week in Brazil. On the last day of the trip, it was a quiet morning, Katie and Ryan were alone on a rooftop overlooking the water and city skyline. Ryan got down on one knee, opened the ring box upside down and asked Katie to marry him. I think you know what she said :)
