Celebrate good times, come on!

You are now officially invited to our wedding and we can't wait to host you on July 8, 2022! We have so much to celebrate, and will hopefully have so many of you wonderful people with us for our big day. This website will have all the details pertaining to our big day, so we will not be sending out any other official invitations (annnnnd Katie is too frugal to do this twice). We ask that you "Save the Date" now, but also visit the "RSVP" tab to let us know if you are planning on coming ("will attend") or if you can't make it ("will not attend"). We'd like to be sure we can plan all of our AND your wedding experiences the best way we can, so your responses are greatly appreciated! For our non-Utah residents that are coming, please see the "LODGING" & "VACATION MODE" tabs for travel tips and tricks.

How it all started

Ryan and Katie met about a decade ago, and have been in the same group of close friends since. We had countless BBQ's, kids' birthday parties, camping trips, and shared many more experiences together. One night (July 8, 2018 to be exact), Katie was helping Ryan paint a room and while listening to music, an Ed Sheeran song came on, Ryan pulled Katie out into the rain to dance, and something clicked. Ryan kissed her (no matter how many times he says that she kissed him first), and they've been inseparable ever since. Ethan, Erik & Harmony have known each other for so many years, and called each other "cousins". They have became more like siblings since Ryan and Katie started dating, poking fun at each other, wrestling and having sleepovers in each other's rooms. Harmony also dubbed Katie "Kit-Kat", which in Katie's opinion is way better than an 'almost step-mom' title. Ryan and Katie were pretty close after knowing each other for so long, but quickly, unexpectedly and happily became each other's best friend.

how he asked

#tohaveandtohensley

Ryan was the guy that said he would never get married. Katie has always wanted to find "the one" and hopefully get married someday, but didn't ever expect Ryan to want to. She teased him about it constantly, but didn't ever think he would change his mind. After spending a year together during the beginning of the pandemic - working & parenting & cooking & cleaning & all the things day-in and day-out (without spending a lot of time outside the house), Christmas of 2020 brought an unexpected surprise. Katie didn't have a whole lot on her Christmas wish list that year, but Ryan sent her on a scavenger hunt throughout the house to find a few of the little things she wanted. Each trip down the hall or into a closet left a clue for the next gift to be found. The last clue was behind a framed goal list (she makes everyone write their goals down each year), and it said "Ask the woman I love...". Confused, in PJ's, no makeup, with fresh coffee breath to fuel her through an early morning with the kids, Katie looked up and Ryan asked if she would marry him.
