Our Story
Katie and Ryan's love story begins in February 2020 at Saint Louis University. As orientation leaders, they were encouraged to go on friendly "citas" (dates) to get to know each other. Ryan asked Katie to go on a cita and it ended up lasting for hours. This sparked their friendship that held strong throughout the Covid lockdown and social distancing. When students were back on campus, the two picked right back up where they left off. A camping trip in October 2020 marked the start of their relationship. After Ryan graduated in 2021, the couple began 3 years of long-distance while Katie finished PT school in St. Louis. Ryan lived in Camden, Denver, and Springfield during this time, where they learned that "distance makes the heart grow fonder." In September 2024, Ryan proposed to Katie in front of the Chicago skyline the day before getting keys to their first apartment together. Now they can't wait to get married in the city they call home!
