Our story began on a fall day at a K-State football game. Katherine and her friend had decided to move seats, not realizing that small decision would change everything. As fate would have it, they ended up sitting right next to Ryan and his friends. What started as casual football banter and plenty of lighthearted jokes quickly turned into a memorable afternoon filled with laughs, shared team spirit, and of course, the exchange of contact information. From there, a friendship blossomed. We found ourselves talking more and more, and soon “just friends” turned into something sweeter. Ice cream dates became our favorite excuse to see each other, and those simple evenings together made it clear that this was something special. By December of 2021, we officially made it a relationship, and our very first date as a couple was spent looking at Christmas lights. That night quickly became one of our favorite memories, so much so that it turned into an annual holiday tradition. Fast forward to December 2024, Ryan chose that same tradition for one of the most meaningful moments of our lives. Just before we headed home for the holidays, he proposed during our Christmas lights date so that we could celebrate the happiest news with our families right after. What started as a chance seating arrangement at a football game has since grown into a lifetime of love, laughter, and traditions we cannot wait to carry into our marriage.
