Things to do

We love the green landscape, city views, and amazing restaurants in Portland. Take a look at some of our favorite spots in the city and let us know what you think!

Washington Park - Rose Garden, Hiking / Running trails, Mt Hood views

400 Southwest Kingston Avenue, Portland, OR 97205
, (503) 823-3636

We spend lots of time in Washington Park—one of our favorite spots in our neighborhood. Enjoy a walk through the rose garden (explore the 100s of rose varieties and their ridiculous names), a hike up Wildwood trail, or a visit to the Lewis & Clark column for a stellar view of Mt Hood.

Ken's Artisan Bakery

338 Northwest 21st Avenue, Portland, OR 97209
, (503) 248-2202

Our favorite bakery and coffee shop—Ryan's favorite is the goat and leek croissant, Kate's go-to is the ham and cheese. Try one and we'll know at last who you love more <3

Oregon Zoo

4001 Southwest Canyon Road, Portland, OR 97221
, (503) 226-1561

Fun for the whole family! Check out the Oregon Zoo's famous elephants, and if you're lucky, you may even catch a peek of the baby orangutan born in April.

Leif Erickson Trail

4198-4100 Northwest Leif Erikson Drive, Portland, OR 97210

Enjoy a bit of serene green in Forest Park. The Leif Erikson trail is a good starting point for either a leisurely walk with some city and river views, or a proper hike.

Bar Diane

Portland, OR 97210
, (971) 255-1387

Natural wine bar and restaurant with amazing food and drink. Nice for a light dinner.

Fifty Licks Ice Cream

2742 East Burnside Street, Portland, OR 97214
, (503) 395-3333

Skip Salt & Straw and go here—it's the best ice cream in Portland & they have plenty of dairy free flavors as well as classic cow. They have multiple locations across the city.

Luc Lac Vietnamese Kitchen

835 Southwest 2nd Avenue, Portland, OR 97204
, (503) 222-0047

Great Vietnamese food downtown in a lively environment. Fast, reliable, and decently healthy.

Toki Restaurant

580 Southwest 12th Avenue, Portland, OR 97205
, (503) 312-3037

Hip Korean spot that's popular and good. Portions are fairly large so go with a crew!

Lil' Shalom

1128 Southwest Alder Street, Portland, OR 97205
, (503) 333-6123

Mediterranean restaurant on a fun block. Can't go wrong with the menu—everything's delicious!

Lechon

113 Southwest Naito Parkway, Portland, OR 97204
, (503) 219-9000

Google classifies this place as a South American restaurant, but the Marks family knows it better for their burger. Stop by here for a bite after a walk along the waterfront!

Huber's Cafe

411 Southwest 3rd Avenue, Portland, OR 97204
, (503) 228-5686

A Portland signature founded in 1879, known for their turkey sandwiches and spanish coffee.

AFURI ramen + dumpling

50 Southwest 3rd Avenue, Portland, OR 97204
, (971) 288-5510

Great ramen and dumplings in a sleek, hip environment.

Mama Mia Trattoria

439 Southwest 2nd Avenue, Portland, OR 97204
, (503) 295-6464

Classic Italian fare—we'll see what the Jersey folk think!

Revolution Hall

1300 Southeast Stark Street, Portland, OR 97214
, (971) 808-5094

Revolution Hall is the former Washington High School (where Kate's grandma went!), which has been renovated to fit a bar, restaurant, and music venue. Ryan & Kate love the rooftop bar that has great views of the west hills & all of Portland.

Nostrana

1401 Southeast Morrison Street, Portland, OR 97214
, (503) 234-2427

Fancier italian fare.

Ken's Artisan Pizza

338 Northwest 21st Avenue, Portland, OR 97209
, (503) 248-2202

Really good pizza and relaxed environment. Plus, fast and friendly service!

Pine State Biscuits | Schuyler

125 Northeast Schuyler Street, Portland, OR 97212
, (503) 719-5357

Very popular biscuit / breakfast sandwich situation. They have other locations across town, too.
