Ryan and Julianna first met and interacted with each other at College in WI. Though Ryan appreciated Julianna and enjoyed being around her, he didn’t think of her much beyond that. By fall of 2024 though, her kindness and genuine heart began to catch his attention on another level. As the school year started, specific promises that God had given him several years before started to become clearer to him, and gave him hope that God might be preparing him for something bigger in his life regarding a future spouse. Desiring to wait only on God’s timing, Ryan asked his parents to pray with him about Julianna and promised to wait for them to have complete peace before taking any steps forward. During this waiting time, Ryan remembers fully surrendering his future with Julianna to God. In March, after what felt like an eternity to him, his parents gave their blessing, confirming the direction he felt God was leading. Meanwhile, Julianna, had long been praying for a husband with specific godly and practical qualities—a combination of traits her father once told her would be nearly impossible to come across. Through shared ministry in music, youth, and productions, she gradually began to notice those very qualities in Ryan. She shared her heart with her dad and he communicated that he too had noticed Ryan. Together, they began wondering what would become of everything as they continued to pray. Not wanting to get ahead of God’s perfect will, she resolved to wait patiently, entrusting her hopes to the God who knew her heart best. While traveling in ministry during the spring semester, she was able to find some time to spend in extended prayer about her future and found peace in surrendering her desires to God, trusting that He could do the impossible in her life. In May of 2025, Ryan’s father reached out to Julianna’s father to ask about starting a courtship. On May 31st, 2025, when Ryan and Julianna met and shared their journeys with each other, they were overwhelmed to see how God had been weaving their stories together all along. Over the next few months, their friendship grew into a priceless relationship. On September 8th, 2025, on a cliff overlooking Lake Michigan, Ryan got down on one knee and asked Julianna to marry him! She said “yes!” As they begin the next chapter of their lives together, they stand in awe at the faithfulness, divine timing, and goodness of God that brought them to this moment.
