What time is the wedding?
Answer
The ceremony will begin promptly at 5:30 pm, with a reception following at 6:00 pm. Please plan to arrive before 5:00 pm. The latest guest seating will be at 5:20 pm and guests arriving after this time will be asked to wait on the South Pond bridge until the ceremony has concluded.

What is the attire for the wedding?
Answer
The attire for the wedding is black-tie optional. A black-tie-optional dress code means you have the option to wear black-tie attire (an evening gown or a tuxedo) but can instead wear formal attire (a suit or long dress). This includes: For Women - floor-length (long) dresses or tasteful pantsuits. For Men - tuxedos or dark suits. To keep the focus on the couple, we kindly ask that guests do not wear fully white or mostly white attire. Clothing with minor white elements (such as prints or a white dress shirt under a jacket) is perfectly acceptable - we simply ask that guests avoid attire that is fully or primarily white.

The ceremony will be held at the People's Gas Pavilion (The Honeycomb) and Café Brauer, both at 2021 N Stockton Dr, Chicago, IL 60614, USA. The Honeycomb is a wooden structure inside Lincoln Park.

How do I get to the venue?
Answer
Transportation to the venue will run between The Thompson Hotel and Café Brauer and includes two shuttle busses, each with a capacity of 38 people (76 per leg): Shuttle Busses Arrive at Thompson (Starts to Load) - 3:05 pm Shuttle Busses Leave Thompson (Leg #1) - 3:20 pm Shuttle Busses Drop Off at Café Brauer (Unload) - 3:50 pm Shuttle Busses Arrive at Thompson (Starts to Load) - 4:20 pm Shuttle Busses Leave Thompson (Leg #2) - 4:35 pm Shuttle Busses Drop Off at Café Brauer (Unload) - 5:05 pm Please note: not everyone will be able to take Leg #2 as there are limited spots. What Is There to do near the Honeycomb if I arrive on transportation Leg #1?

We recommend stopping by the Lincoln Hotel's rooftop bar, The J. Parker, for a scenic view of Lincoln Park while sipping a nice cocktail. Also in the Lincoln Hotel, there is a ground-level bar and restaurant in the Americano, Lincoln Park where you can nibble on apps. Weather dependent, there are nature boardwalks around South Pond in Lincoln Park that offer wonderful birding opportunities and scenic views.

How do I get from the venue?

We encourage you to continue dancing the night away with us. However, starting just before 9:30 pm, there will be one 38-person shuttle van for the elderly and those that need to depart early that will drop off at both The Thompson Hotel and 100 E Huron for those staying in the Streeterville/Mag Mile area. After the initial shuttle, the return shuttle service includes two 38-person shuttle vans (for a total of 76 people) as follows: Arrives at Café Brauer (Starts to Load) - 10:35 pm Leaves Café Brauer (Return Leg #1) - 10:40 pm Drop Offs at both 100 E Huron and The Thompson. Arrives at Café Brauer (Starts to Load) - 11:55 pm Leaves Café Brauer (Return Leg #2) - 12:10 am Drop Offs at both 100 E Huron and The Thompson.

Is there parking at the venue?
Answer
Generally, no. There are two nearby lots near Cafe Brauer, both of which require walking to reach the venue. The lots are located at Lincoln Park Zoo (2400 N Cannon Dr) and the Chicago History Museum (1756 N Stockton Drive). Both of these lots are paid parking and we recommend using Spothero for discounted rates: https://spothero.com/. We strongly encourage using the provided motorcoach bus or rideshare/taxi services.

Are children allowed at the wedding?
Answer
No. Children are allowed at the welcome party on Friday night at Barcocina in Lakeview (the neighborhood to the north of Lincoln Park). However, the ceremony and reception are strictly adults. If you intend on bringing children for the weekend, please let us know so we can help recommend sitters.

How do I get around Chicago?
Answer
Chicago’s public transit is generally the easiest and most cost effective way to venture around the city. The Chicago Transit Authority is responsible for all busses and elevated rail (the L) in the city. To use public transit, please download the Ventra app, create an account, and choose from a selection of fare options. We recommend using either a daily or 3-day pass for your trip. You can use your phone at any turnstile or bus, please have your device ready. Google maps tends to be the most effective way to plan your trips. Please allow for extra time in case of any delays.

Where should I stay?

We currently offer a small room block at the Thompson Hotel (Hyatt) in the nearby Gold Coast neighborhood of Chicago. Café Brauer is located in the Lincoln Park neighborhood to its north. Because of the wide range of hotel and accommodation options in Chicago, we chose to allow a limited room block and offer bus transportation from certain hotels (Magnificent Mile/Near North Side area and The Thompson/Gold Coast Triangle) to the ceremony/reception. We generally recommend finding accommodation in the following near northside neighborhoods: Lincoln Park (further east towards Lincoln Park or Clark St.) Gold Coast (closer to Gold Coast Triangle off Bellevue, Rush, and State St.) River North (closer to the Chicago river) or Near North Side (further from the river and closer to Gold Coast) Streeterville/Magnificent Mile (Michigan Ave.) The Loop (closer to Michigan Ave. to the east or the Chicago river to the north)
