Jordan and Ryan met for the first time 4 years ago in Cedar Falls, IA. Jordan was passing through town on a road trip from Nebraska to Wisconsin. She had reached out to a mutual friend of the couple (shout out Bailey), and asked him if she could crash on his couch for the evening to split up her long venture. Like a gentleman, Bailey obliged and welcomed her to his UNI community for the night. Ryan, a friend and co-worker of Bailey, had heard about this "girl" passing through town. After a quick Facebook stalk, he became an eager tag-a-long and asked Bailey if he could crash their dinner plans. The trio set out for a few appetizers and cold brewskies, and the rest of their love story wrote itself. It didn't take but a few weeks for Ryan to secure Jordan's number, asking her on a proper first date. Ryan drove 4 hours from Cedar Falls to Lincoln to take Jordan on their first date. Like a true Husker, Jordan pulled out the hospitality and fanfare to welcome him to Lincoln. In fashion, the couple journeyed to Barry's Rooftop, Memorial Stadium, and even the Railyard proper. From this point on the couple knew they wanted to fully pursue each other. Through a few years of long distance dating, numerous airline tickets and dedication and commitment to each other; the couple ended up moving to Maryville, MO where Ryan continued to pursue his dreams of working in college athletics at NWMSU. On March 7th, 2021 during an afternoon walk, Ryan, a ball of nerves, proposed in front of the historic kissing columns on Nebraska's campus. Shaking, and on one knee he was able to sputter out "....um so, you wanna marry me?..." A giggle and resounding "YES" was all Jordan could muster. There they celebrated with both of their parents in high anticipation of the nuptials.
