Things To Do

We are so excited you can join us for the ceremony and the reception. We know that means you will have some free time while we take pictures so here are some things we recommend. :) You might want to just head to Kellog Park and go from there. You can head to the shops or you can even just walk through the town and neighborhoods. It's quite lovely.

Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church

47650 North Territorial Road, Plymouth, MI 48170
, (734) 453-0326

As much as I want to encourage you to check out the beautiful town of Plymouth, there are a few things you can do without going anywhere while we take photos outside the church. Our Lady of Good Counsel has an adoration chapel. You are highly encouraged to at least stop by there for a few mins. :) If you head in the main front doors of the church and hang a left you will find it. It's across the hall from the bathrooms. There is also a vigil mass at 4pm. If you need to hit the road in the morning Sunday (or you just don't want to get up early ) this might be a good option for you. There is also a lot of green space outside - there is even a soccer field if you wanna bring something to use in that space. Outside you will also find an Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto. This is where Ryan and I got engaged after New Years Eve Mass. :)

Kellogg Park

Plymouth, MI 48170

Kellog Park is a little park in the heart of downtown Plymouth. It's a beautiful little spot to just hang out that is surrounded by cute shops and great restaurants such as Bigalora, Stella's and E.G. Nicks. You will not be disappointed if that sounds like what you are looking for.

Plymouth Coffee Bean

884 Penniman Avenue, Plymouth, MI 48170
, (734) 454-0178

This is such a cute coffee shop - if you love ( or neeeeeed ) coffee you will be glad you stopped by! It's one of Joan's favorite :) If you look on google maps you will find many other great coffee shops nearby. Seriously though, can someone make sure the bride gets her coffee????

Dairy King

232 South Main Street, Plymouth, MI 48170
, (734) 455-5720

Here's a fun place if you are in the mood for something sweet and cold. Just be sure to save room for cheesecake ;)

Sumac Pointe Recreation Area

37507 Edward N Hines Drive, Livonia, MI 48150
, (313) 224-7600

If you are looking for something a little more outside town, check out Newburgh Lake. Ryan and I have been fishing there a few times. It's also a lovely place to just chill. There is a picnic shelter as well as a playground.

Shrine of St. Joseph

953 East Michigan Avenue, Grass Lake Charter Township, MI 49240
, (517) 522-8017

Due to the distance from the church, this is not something you could fit in between the ceremony and reception, but you might want to check it out at some point while you are in town. :) This place is a hidden gem. And it is special to me and Ryan because we made our Consecration to St. Joseph there on January 23rd - The Feast of the Holy Spouses (otherwise known as St. Joseph and Mother Mary's wedding day). You might want to go to their 10am Sunday mass before you hit the road or else just visit the church and gift shop while you are in the area.
