Ryan and Janelle's journey began over 10 years ago when they met by chance at a high school house party. Though their initial encounter was brief, they reconnected a couple of years later while working at Lucky Pie Pizza & Taphouse in Louisville, CO. Janelle, a hostess, and Ryan, a busser, hit it off leading to a lifelong friendship. As Janelle moved to Grand Junction for Colorado Mesa University and Ryan attended CU Boulder, they stayed in touch. When Janelle returned to the Front Range to attend CSU in Fort Collins, their bond grew stronger, and they became inseparable, enjoying concerts, skiing, and video games together. As time progressed, Ryan asked Janelle to be his girlfriend in December 2019. Over the past 10 years, they have navigated the challenges of the getting their degrees, surviving the pandemic together, and being there for each through life's up and downs. They've since lived in Janelle's hometown of Superior, Downtown Denver, and currently reside close to family and friends in Westminster, CO.
For a long time, Ryan had been planning a special engagement and wanted to find the perfect, scenic spot to propose to Janelle. Since they both love spending time in Grand Lake, CO, Ryan discovered a beautiful location overlooking the town. On October 26, 2024, they headed to Grand Lake to spend time with their friend Drew at his cabin. Ryan organized a hike to a stunning amphitheater with views of the Rocky Mountains and Grand Lake. There, he got down on one knee and asked Janelle to marry him. After the proposal, they returned to Drew’s cabin, where they were greeted by their families and loved ones, all there to celebrate this special moment together.
