We recommend this hotel! A typical Yorkshire countryside pub with good food, friendly service, beautiful beer garden, comfy clean rooms, families and dogs welcome. It's less then 10 mins on the bus (X4 & 5 services) from our wedding venue. Large free car park and the bus stop is right outside. We also recommend booking ASAP as there are only a small number of rooms available.

We recommend this hotel! Good food, friendly service, families and dogs welcome, spa treatments, costal views! Less than 10mins walk from Saltburn train station, bus stop near by that take you direct to Loftus (X4 service) within 30mins. There is limited car park space during busy periods but plenty of other parking near-by.

We recommend this hotel! Good food, friendly service, comfy clean rooms, families and dogs welcome in the bar. It's less than a 5min walk to the bus stop for the X4 service to Loftus (approx. 30 mins by bus) from our wedding venue.

Royal Hotel
We recommend the Royal for its location for anyone wanting to visit Whitby while staying for our wedding. The hotel is located on Whitby West Cilff with a beautiful view of the coast and Whitby Abby. There is a bus every 30mins from Whitby bus station to Loftus Market Place (served by the X4 bus), the journey is approx. 50min. Alternatively, it is a 25min drive to Loftus from Whitby.

The Sheep Sanctuary
We recommend this glamping site in the heart of the North York Moors National Park. This glamping site is based on a working farm and sheep sanctuary. The sanctuary is set within 50 acres of farmland and home to around 300 animals, most of them rescued sheep! The farm is a 20min drive from Loftus. Due to the nature of the farm and sanctuary, dogs are not allowed and the owners of the sanctuary request that no meat is consumed on the property.

We recommend this glamping, camping and caravan site. It is local to Loftus and only a 30min walk to the wedding venue (up a steep hill) or approx. 5 min bus from the nearest bus or by car. It's peaceful and dog friendly.

Saltburn Train Station
The nearest train station to Loftus is Saltburn. There are direct trains to Manchester, York, Newcastle, Middlesbrough and Darlington from Saltburn. There are 4 bus routes that connect Saltburn to Loftus (X4, X4A, 1 & 2)

Public Transport (Local Buses)
Loftus is serviced by X4, X4A, 5 buses by Arriva and the 1, 2 and Tees-flex buses by Stagecoach. The X4/X4A run from Middlesbrough to Whitby via Redcar, Saltburn and Loftus while the 5 runs from Middlesbrough to Easington via Guisborough and Loftus. Stagecoach service 1 & 2 run from Saltburn train station to Loftus.

Middlesbrough bus station receives coaches from most major UK cities via National Express, FlixBus & Caledonian Travel. Connecting buses to Loftus can be made from this bus station via the X4, X4A and 5 buses.

Travel By Road
Loftus can be accessed by the A174 which will take you directly to our wedding venue. Traveling from North, West or South to Loftus can be made via the A1M & A66 towards Teesside, then onto the A19 which connects you to the A174. Please note, there is a hairpin bend on the A174 between Carlin How village and Loftus, please go slow and give way to buses and HGVs on the bend. Drive safely!

There are 4 car parks in Loftus, all free. Hall Grounds Car Park (TS13 4HJ) located on the main road through Loftus. North Road Car Park (TS13 4JL) accessed via North Road, near Loftus Market Place which has EV charging points and disabled bay parking. Police Houses Car Park Police Houses (TS12 5HW), located on Police Houses road near to the Reunion bar and restaurant, which also has disabled parking bays and EV charge points. Loftus Leisure Centre Car Park (TS13 4RS) which has disabled parking bays.

We recommend to use Red-Car Taxis. Their number is 01642470470 and they are open 24/7 all year. A much more reliable and friendlier alternative to other, bigger, taxi firms in the area.
