Harrison and Ryan met in the spring of 2022. It was a typical day in Birmingham - full of sunshine, blue skies, and puffy white clouds floating lazily up above. The birds chirped happily, and every flower danced in the breeze, showing off their reds and blues and yellows. If someone was picking a day for a first date, this day would’ve taken home the gold. It was the kind of day that dispelled first-date jitters and wrapped you up in its warmth and joy. It was a day meant for two people finding each other. Against this backdrop, Harrison and Ryan had a late lunch (or an early dinner, depending on your perspective). Unbeknownst to them, the timing was a brilliant decision. What started as a casual date with salads and sandwiches morphed into hours spent walking around, talking, and getting to know one another – almost as if they were afraid to let the moment end. Frustratingly, the sun eventually set. The fiery orange sky faded to indigo, and little stars twinkled in the velvet night. With hugs and smiles, Ryan and Harrison made their separate journeys home under the light of a brilliant crescent moon. Their time apart was spent how you would probably imagine – texting and talking until someone fell asleep, but not before deciding on another date the very next night. Over the next two and a half years, Harrison and Ryan kept finding ways to spend even more time with each other. What started as dinner dates turned into weekend trips, and eventually those weekend trips became weeks spent abroad. You see, you don’t really know a person until you spend two weeks living out of suitcases in a foreign country with him. Luckily, those experiences only deepened their love for each other and the moments they shared. That love is what brought them together in the Nevada mountains where they exchanged vows and became husbands.
