Emily and I met through Hinge, an online dating site! I had just recently moved back to Ohio from Tennessee, where I hadn't had much success dating, so I was excited for a fresh start. Emily and I both had a few questionable dating experiences with Hinge, and we were pretty close to deleting the app before we finally matched. We had some early reservations for each other's obsession with their pets, as we were pretty divided on the cat vs. dog debate. Also, our first argument was a big one: McDonald's or Wendy's? Despite these polarizing differences, we were able to find common ground in our fandom for the Bengals, appreciation for good food, and love for our pets, friends, and families. Our first date was at Oakley Kitchen. I was made aware, much later, that it was outrageous that I introduced myself with a handshake instead of a hug. I also made the mistake of wearing hiking boots on our second date, as I quickly learned that Emily has high taste when it comes to footwear. And, there is a strong possibility that I gave her food poisoning when I cooked for her on our third date... Despite a few hiccups at the beginning, time has seemingly flown by since then. From moving in together and introducing our pets, Clark and Georgia, to getting engaged in Las Vegas, and now getting married, it is crazy to think that it has been over 2 years since our first date. We are so excited for the wedding and for all of the adventures to come!
