We met each other at a Great Gatsby themed mixer between our college Fraternity and Sorority. Emily was wearing a black sequin dress that sparkled almost as much as her eyes. Ryan and Emily spoke all night in the doorway to the dance floor. Our first date was technically Jimmy Johns when Emily asked if Ryan would walk her there randomly at 2:00AM. Ryan purchased Emily a #4 Turkey Tom, her favorite. She was so shocked that he did it as she had never had a boy buy her something before. Ryan still thinks it was the best $7 investment of his life. Their official relationship began on Valentine's day when Ryan asked Emily to be his girlfriend. Ryan remembers having to frantically find a restaurant for them to go to dinner at on Valentine's day. He had called every sushi place in Ann Arbor until Sadako came through for a late reservation. From that day, he learned the importance of sushi to Emily, and her love for unique cuisine. In addition to exciting meals and culinary adventures, we have traveled to Puerto Rico, a cruise through the Caribbean, New York, DC, Atlanta, Chicago, Florida, and several Michigan landmarks. Every step of the way, Emily introduces Ryan to new and unique experiences. Ryan takes on the job of teaching Emily more simple things, like what a propane tank is, or how to use a tire gauge. Their blend of experiences creates a wonderful encyclopedia of knowledge that they will take into their new life together and their future family. Currently, we live in Troy, Mi (Our apartment is called the Gables). We enjoy various sports leagues with our friends such as bowling, softball, flag football, and golf. We enjoy watching our Wolverines, Lions, Tigers, and Wings. We could not be more thankful for our families for their loving support, and our friends for always being so willing to put up with our constant need to have plans. We are so excited to celebrate our marriage with all of you, and to include you all in this last step of our journey as individuals, and the first step of our journey as a married couple.
