Travel Note
Traffic times (as experienced by Elena): Best northbound times: Traffic is heaviest between 5:30am-8:30am heading into Seattle, and afternoon rush begins about 1:15pm until 6:45pm leaving Seattle. Please check your destination travel times before you leave your origin if you have to drive through Seattle proper. Southbound times: LEAVE your origin point after 6:45. Rush hour Southbound is from 2:30-6:30 roughly. If you are coming from the airport, these are the directions you may need: First get on 518, then get in the far left lane to merge onto Northbound I-5. (This is a traffic heavy merge spot.) It is a straight shot to Mount Vernon (for 70.4mi) where you will get off at exit 225: Anderson Rd. 0.6 miles later, at the traffic circle, take the 3rd exit onto Cedardale Rd. 0.2 miles, turn right on E Blackburn Rd. 0.1 miles, turn left onto S 13th St. go pass the athletic fields. 223ft, turn onto the first left, onto S 11th St. There is a parking lot on the right! The lodge is behind the first building you see on your right.
Travel Note
Blue Angels will be flying this weekend for their air show. It may cause heavier traffic than usual! Prepare to leave earlier if you’re driving any main freeways or interstates. Seattle has closed two Northbound lanes on I-5 over the Canal Bridge which has left the express lanes open Northbound only. There will be an opening of the lanes for the World Cup in June, but construction will begin again after. Alternate routes are also plugging up with detoured traffic such as 405, please plan accordingly for slow traffic times.
