As you may know, we have previously lived in Norfolk, VA. We're so excited to share a few of our favorite places in the area with you!

USS Wisconsin BB-64

The USS Wisconsin (BB-64) is a famous Iowa-class battleship that served in World War II, the Korean War, and the Persian Gulf War, earning battle stars in all three conflicts. Decommissioned for the final time in 1991, it is now a museum ship berthed at Nauticus in Norfolk, Virginia, where visitors can tour the historic vessel.

Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center

The Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center in Virginia Beach features extensive freshwater and saltwater exhibits with thousands of animals, including sharks, rays, sea turtles, and otters, plus interactive touch pools, a veterinary center, and outdoor areas. Recently renovated, the South Building offers immersive experiences, play areas, and a water quality lab, while the adjacent Adventure Park provides ziplining and climbing for a full-day outing.

Waterside District

Waterside District is a waterfront entertainment and dining complex featuring multiple restaurants, bars, and event spaces, with popular spots including Blue Moon TapHouse, Stripers Waterside, and PBR Norfolk, offering a variety of options from casual eats and sports viewing to nightlife and live music, all with views of the Elizabeth River.

Norfolk Botanical Garden

Norfolk Botanical Garden is a 175-acre botanical garden in Norfolk, Virginia, featuring over 60 themed gardens, including a children's garden, and collections of azaleas, camellias, and roses, with year-round beauty and wildlife viewing opportunities. It's a non-profit organization that offers seasonal blooms, educational programs, and events, and is known for its diverse landscapes and commitment to sustainability.

Freemason Abbey Restaurant

Freemason Abbey Restaurant, a former 1873 church, is reputed to be haunted, with reports of a dark figure, a weeping woman, and poltergeist-like activity in the kitchen and bar, such as moving objects and opening cupboards. Staff often say "Goodnight Mr. B" to a former owner believed to haunt the dry storage room. Our favorite she-crab soup!
