Ryan messaged Daniella on a Monday, they talked about the Oscars, movies, sports, cooking, and travel so much over 3 days, that Ryan invited Daniella out on a date by Thursday night at C'est What Pub for a drink, which turned into dinner. All two days before Daniella's birthday. Date two was a birthday celebration with a night at the Royal Ontario Museum and then dinner on the Danforth; in Ryan's old neighborhood at an Ethiopian restaurant where they ate with their hands! And the rest is history!

They were out visiting a friend in Vancouver where they took a day trip to Squamish and Whistler. Ryan planned a picnic on top of Squamish for his proposal when he found the right spot. They took the gondola up Squamish and walked the Panorama trail to Chief's Outlook where Ryan proposed at the edge of the outlook when it emptied at the perfect time. The day was a perfectly crystal clear sky with some spring snow caps on the mountains, with lush greenery and fresh air of the Rockies.
