Charleston International Airport

Kiawah Island is 33 miles from the Charleston airport. The drive is 45 minutes to an hour. Usually there is no issue using a ride-hailing app to get from the airport out to the island. While we love navigating the island on bicycles, we would highly recommend renting a car if you are not staying at the resort as Uber/Lyft is rarely available.

Kiawah Island Resort Villas and Home Rentals

Reserving a Kiawah Island home or villa through the resort offers some benefits which are not available to other rental agencies on the island - free on-island transportation, access to resort pools, and more. Other Third Party Rentals

Other villas and houses can be booked through third party vendors such as Vrbo, Airbnb, Vacasa, ESPM, and iTrip. If booking through a third party you will not have access to the complimentary shuttles and some of the resort amenities or discounts, but you might find nicer and less expensive options through these platforms.

The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island Golf Resort

This is a beautiful, 5- Star luxury hotel right on the beach. The hotel also offers access to a resort shuttle that can take you to any resort property on the island. You can get a 10% discount by mentioning the Kimball- Spitalny Wedding and booking ID # - 20008 during booking.

Andell Inn

This Marriott property is technically not on Kiawah Island, but it's the closest non- resort hotel to the island. Guests will have access to the public beach (Beachwalker Park), the hotel pool, and will be near all the shops and restaurants in Freshfields Village.
