Why Charlottesville?

Answer

Because it's beautiful! Also, Char grew up in Virginia and went to the University of Virginia.

What should I wear?

Answer

Clothes. Attire is semi formal—guys should feel comfortable in suits and ladies in party dresses. Comfortable shoes encouraged.

Is this an outdoor event?

Answer

Partially. Hopefully. Weather permitting, the ceremony and cocktail hour will take place outside.

Is transportation provided to and from the venue?

Answer

Yes. Shuttles will be available to and from the Courtyard Marriott. Please see the Travel page for more information.

Is parking available at the venue?

Answer

Yes, but please don't drink and drive! If necessary, cars can be left in the venue parking lot overnight and retrieved in the morning.

Should I rent a car?

Answer

Lyft and taxis are widely available. A free trolley also runs frequently between Charlottesville's main areas— the University, The Corner, and the Downtown Mall. We will provide shuttles to and from the wedding venue. However, if you're looking to explore more of Charlottesville's surrounding areas, then a car could be helpful.

Can I bring a date?

If your invitation says “and Guest,” then yes, if not, we would prefer if it was just you.

Are kids invited?

Answer

We love your kids—we really do. But we want our wedding to be your night off!

Answer
