Picture it; a crackling fire, a sparkle in her eye, yoga pants, and a beard. A battle of one-upping each other with grotesque stories from their behavioral health days was just the beginning for the two we all know and love. After several dates, Ryan proposed a relationship in the most romantic of venues; the meat aisle of the grocery store. Nothing says love like a porterhouse steak. Over the next year, Ryan and Catrina bonded with each other's loved ones through charity work, cookouts, camping, and card games. The grand gathering of the annual Howland vacation was the true realization that Ryan and Liv fit perfectly into the family. Catrina made strong impressions on the Saco River float with Ryan's family that summer as well... Woot Woot! In 2018, the "Horneland" household was established, blending four unique personalities into one 700 square foot apartment in Manchester and putting two preteen only children into one bedroom. This dynamic has nicely evolved and the family enjoys many activities together, like long trail walks/hiking, camping, softball seasons, and of course, game nights. The selection of games is impressive and you should see Ryan's drawing skills (and the girl's red faces) with the game Sketchy Stories. The competitive spirit between Ryan and Catrina is strong and therefore, Risk is no longer an option in the house. It wasn't long before Catrina added her father's number to Ryan's phone as "Whenyouwanttomarrymecallhim" Ryan used that number in 2020 and at the annual Howland family vacation, surrounded by sparklers held by all her family members leading a path to Ryan, Catrina gleefully found herself in the moment she had not-so-patiently waited for. Ryan asked Catrina "Do you want to be a Horne?" which was slightly misheard by some family members, wondering if she was about to switch professions. Luckily, it was about the option to change her name, and she said YES! Since their engagement they have had more time to strengthen their bond and love for each other. Ryan and Catrina have dreamt of the day that a simple wedding ceremony would be filled with those they love and lots of dancing. They have faith that their late fathers' love and presence will be strong as well throughout the day, and for the entirety of their union. They are looking forward to seeing you on their big day!
