Maid of Honor
Despite Katie initially being oblivious of my presence in her life (as indicated by when she stepped on me while dancing as a 3 year old), we quickly grew to be best friends! She is the best sister a girl could ask for and I am so thankful for how close we've always been. She is incredibly kind, compassionate, adventurous, joyful, and inclusive and I strive to model how well she loves the people around her!
Best Man
I met Spencer our freshman year of college at UT at a Texas Wesley freshman event, and we have been friends ever since. From grilling outside Jester West (our dormitory), to being accountability partners (which included many late night gym sessions, and deep conversations about our fears and dreams), to sharing bunk beds (which included me watching YouTube videos out loud when it was way too late to do so), to being each others best man, Spencer has been my brother and best friend through thick and thin.
Bridesmaid
Emily and I met at our dorm (SRD) freshman year and bonded quickly over a love of ice cream when we walked to Amy's Ice Cream together! Emily is a steady friend who is always in my corner through every transition, and I couldn't imagine this day without her! Her and her husband Spencer (see: best man) have been instrumental in our relationship and we can't thank them enough for their support!
Groomsman
I met Jacob in the Texas Wesley at UT as well. He, Spencer, and I all lived in Jester West Dormitory together our freshman year, and made many treks to and from Texas Wesley events together. We then rented a house together with 6 total guys (long live the Tool Shed), for our Junior and Senior years. I will forever cherish our wine nights on the front porch (Barefoot Merlot and Skittles are a surprisingly good pairing), and the meaningful conversations and friendship shared along the way.
Bridesmaid
Cara is another wonderful friend courtesy of SRD! When we get together, it feels like no time has passed, despite the fact that we are no longer college freshmen and she is now absolutely crushing it in her OBGYN residency in North Carolina! Cara is loyal and hard working and I'm thankful for the way our friendship has persisted despite many life transitions!
Groomsman
I met Nick our freshman year in the Texas Wesley (have you sensed a theme yet?), and we were in the same discipleship group (long live the Resistance). Nick was also one of those six crazy young men that lived in the Tool Shed. Many wonderful memories were shared together in that house, even though we literally had poop-water coming out of our drains at one point. We led worship together in the Wesley praise band (Nickle pickle has the sickest beats of any drummer I know). Over the years Nick has been one of my greatest champions, and someone I can always depend on.
Bridesmaid
I had no idea how much Lauren would mean to me when I decided to live with her for that first year of PA school, but here we are 4 years later, still roommates and walking through life together! Lauren is filled with faith and wisdom and never fails to make me laugh! I'll miss her late night comments like "good night, ya little armadillo" and all the silly roommate shenanigans when I get a new roommate in Ryan!
Groomsman
There hasn’t been a time in my life that I can remember not having James around. We met, because our parents were friends, over 20 years ago. We have seen each other through a lot over the years, all the way from boyhood sleepovers watching movies and playing games, to manhood roommates getting swole and binging Demon Slayer. James has been, and will always be, one of my closest friends.
Bridesmaid
Somehow we made it 8 years at the same high school and college before realizing that we needed to be friends, but I'm so thankful that we finally got to that point in PA school! Her friendship is one of the most unexpected blessings that Dallas has brought me. Ellie is kind, encouraging, and supportive and to be known and loved by her is a blessing! She is a consistent friend who is always willing to be there for her people and I'm thankful she'll be able to stand with us at our wedding!
Groomsman
I have had the pleasure of calling Brien my brother-in-law for a little over two years now. He is better than any man I could’ve hand crafted as a husband for my sister. He has so many wonderful qualities that make him a great servant leader, and I am so grateful for all he is for my sister. More than that, he is more than I could’ve asked for as a brother. I look forward to many more years of brotherhood with him.
Bridesmaid
PA school brought lots of challenges, but I would do it all again because of the great friends that it brought me (see: all of these wonderful PA school classmates turned friends and now bridesmaids)! Watch out on the dance floor, because Frances is the most competitive, all-in, fun friend that you'll find! She is another loyal friend who will always be there if you need her!
Groomsman
I met Will in September of 2019, in our first semester of graduate school. I was immediately inspired by him as a trombonist and musician, and drawn to his kindness and thoughtfulness. Now that he and his fiancée, Molly, live in Dallas, Caroline and I have gotten to hang out with them, and I’m sure will continue to spend lots of good time together in the future.
Bridesmaid
Katie and I like to say that we pranked ourselves by getting biomedical engineering degrees as our pathway to get to PA/medical school, but I wouldn't change a thing since UT BME brought me Katie! From late nights at Mrs. J's donuts in college to long chats over Cabo Bob's, Katie has been consistently one of my closest friends! I'm thankful that our friendship didn't stop with college, but rather has gotten to continue to grow despite many transitions!
Groomsman
I met Ben in the summer of 2013 at the Interlochen Summer Arts Camp. 7 years later, we both reconnected in graduate school at Yale, and formed a trombone quartet (with two other groomsmen), Tempest 4. Ben lives in Syracuse now, and is principal trombone with Symphoria (formerly the Syracuse Symphony). I have been up to play with him multiple times, and he and his fiancée Jordan, have been so kind and hospitable in letting me stay with them.
Bridesmaid
I am beyond excited to gain another sister in Liz! Liz is great at making people feel welcome and important in the way she listens in conversation and connects people! I am so blessed to get to join the Murrays and I'm looking forward to making many more memories together in the years to come!
Groomsman
I met Sam the summer of 2019, before we were going to start grad school together, at the International Trombone Festival in Muncie, IN. Sam played bass trombone (and sometimes tenor, when he let me “play” his bass) in our trombone quartet at Yale. Sam, and the Tempest 4 guys, were the main reason I grew as a musician through graduate school in the pandemic, and I am eternally grateful for the musical memories and friendship, we have cultivated over the years.
