We regret to inform you that Ryan and I have officially decided to cancel our 11.6.2021 wedding. It was not an easy decision for us but given the state of our climate, we have decided it is for the best. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We felt so much love on our wedding day from those near and far and we appreciate it so much! We still plan to take our honeymoon when we are allowed to travel, so if you feel inclined to donate to our honeymoon fund, please visit our registry tab on this site. Thank you to everyone from the bottom of our hearts for hanging with us during this crazy year of trying to get married! Love, The Dukes
Ryan and I met January of 2015 through our current roommates at the time, Cameron and Kelsey. Kelsey and I had lived together at that point for a few months, but with Ryan working 2nd shift, our paths hadn't crossed until New Years week of 2015! Our first time hanging out was dinner at our (now) favorite Mexican spot in town. The next day we went with a group to play trivia where Ryan and I spent the whole night talking. After that, the rest is history! Our first real date was a breakfast date due to Ryan's schedule and we became official on 2/14/2015. Over the last 5 years, Ryan and I have done and been through a lot! We have traveled to tons of different places, taken vacations, got new jobs and have been promoted, and even underwent a health scare and a life altering surgery for Ryan. The ups and downs of our lives have melded us together in a way many people don't get to experience. We now have a beautiful home, the best puppy in the world, and two great jobs with the best family and friends around!
On 4/25/2019, my birthday, Ryan and I boarded an early morning flight to Los Angeles to visit his brother, sister in law, and our niece and nephew. Our day was spent catching up, exploring Orange County with Josh, and playing with the kids. Ryan and I had planned to have a nice dinner out that night to celebrate my birthday. Me being the foodie I am, chose a fabulous restaurant with great food and an even better view that overlooked the ocean! While we were eating, Ryan said that we could go take pictures by the ocean after we were done. I found that strange since Ryan NEVER wants to take pictures but I went with it figuring he just wanted me to be happy on my birthday. Once we got to the beach, Ryan guided me along the water telling me to go "dip my toes" in. When I did that, he grabbed my arm and got down on one knee! It was so special and overwhelming that it was finally happening! After he put the ring on, I turned around to see Josh, Ryans brother, photographing the whole thing! He had hidden behind the rocks to capture the special moment for us!
