We both attended Penn State Erie, The Behrend College. Ryan majored in Finance and I majored in Nursing. Our mutual friend, Chelsi, introduced us to each other. Once we got to know one another and appreciate each other's sense of humor, it was clear we were meant to be together. Fast forward 7 years and we have since adopted a cat, a dog, and purchased our first home together. Now we're tying the knot!
An opportunity arose through my work to travel to Salt Lake City, Utah for a few days. We decided that we would make a mini vacation out of it. My friend who I work with, Krista, also got to come. We met up with one of Ryan's best friends, Chad, who resides in SLC. The four of us drove to Moab, Utah and stayed in a beautiful Airbnb. Saturday, 9/21/19, we all went to the Arches National Park. The last stop of the day was to see the Delicate Arch, one that I had really looked forward to seeing. We read the description of the trail and knew it wasn't going to be an easy one, so we decided to stop and take a look at it from the "vantage point." Some vantage point it was because you could not even see the arch from where we were. Ryan insisted we hike the trail to get up close to the Arch. After much convincing from Ryan, the four of us trekked our way on an up-hill hike. The view was breathtaking, much worth the hike we endeavored. When it was our turn to take a picture at the Arch, I walked under the Arch, turned around to get picture-ready and SURPRISE, Ryan was on one knee. It was an insane moment; many tourists shouting "congrats" and applauding loudly. Chad did an amazing job at capturing the proposal with his amazing photographer skills.
