Q & A

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Our wedding ceremony will begin at 4:00 sharp. Please arrive 10-15 minutes before at the latest to ensure you are seated in time. Guests who arrive late will not be allowed into the church and will join the celebration at cocktail hour.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We are asking our guests to dress up with us - our wedding is black tie encouraged. Formal wear for gentlemen may include a tuxedo or suit - a tuxedo is preferred but not required. For women, floor length or midi length dresses are appropriate. We also ask that guests avoid wearing light blue, cream, ivory, white, or champagne, as those colors are reserved for the bridal party. Please note, our reception is taking place under a tent outdoors so we recommend shoes that will not sink into the grass.

Question

Can I bring a guest?

Answer

If you received a plus one, your guest's name is listed on your invitation and will appear with your name when you RSVP. Otherwise, we would love to keep the wedding as an intimate event with friends and family only.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

To allow all guests to relax and enjoy themselves, we have chosen to make our special day adults only. We thank you for your understanding.

Question

Will there be transportation to the wedding?

Answer

We have a shuttle service running between Dorset and the Kimpton Taconic and Hampton Inn hotels in Manchester before the ceremony and after the reception. The ceremony and reception are being held directly across the street, so guests will not need transportation between these events. We also have local drivers available at the after party. Please see the schedule for shuttle timing and after party transportation information.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Parking is available at the Dorset Field Club, which is located directly across the street from the church.

Question

Can I take photographs during the ceremony?

Answer

We kindly ask that you put your phones away and on silent for an unplugged ceremony. We have a great photographer who will be capturing this moment for us. Guests can take and post as many photos as they would like during the cocktail hour and reception.

Question

What is the weather like in Vermont?

Answer

June in Vermont is warm during the day but can cool off at night. We recommend guests bring a light wrap for after the sun sets.

Question

Will last names be changing after the wedding?

Answer

We are both quite attached to our current names, so nothing will be changing there!
