Please let us know if you're able to join us by May 1st.
While the ceremony will begin promptly at noon, the museum will open its doors to us at 11:30. Feel free to explore the museum if you like, but you can also check out the exhibits after the festivities (but before CHM needs us to end at 1:30).
The museum has two wonderful spaces: the indoor Chicago Room and the exterior Plaza. We'll decide a couple days in advance on which we'll use for the ceremony, but note that it could be either. After the brief ceremony, we'll move inside for a champagne toast, then folks are free to mingle or explore the museum or enjoy the rest of their day before the reception.
Rivers Restaurant is in the Loop and a short distance from the museum. Here, too, we may be outside on the beautiful riverside patio for dinner with dancing inside, but this is of course weather dependent. The cocktail hour will begin at 5pm, and then we'll sit down for toasts and dinner at 6pm.
Stay tuned for parking and transit options, and we'll list them on the travel and lodging page soon!
There will be some time between the ceremony and the reception, so it's a great opportunity to check out the area surrounding the museum, head back to your hotel to relax, or just enjoy the city. See the forthcoming Things To Do page for some ideas!
We love your kids—we really do. But we want our wedding to be your night off! Unless they're specifically included on your RSVP page, we ask that it's just you and your dancing shoes.
