Explore Costa Rica Beyond Our Wedding!

Tamarindo offers a mix of beach time, activities, and day trips. You can spend time at the beach, take a surf lesson, or charter a fishing boat. There are also options like ziplining, ATV tours, and scuba diving. In town, you’ll find restaurants, bars, shops, and small markets. If you prefer something more low-key, you can book a massage or simply spend time by the water and catch the sunset. Beyond Tamarindo, Costa Rica is easy to explore if you have extra time. There are several options within a few hours, including national parks, waterfalls, and other beach towns. You can take a day trip to places like Rincón de la Vieja National Park for hiking and hot springs, or visit Rio Celeste to see its bright blue waterfall. Other nearby beach towns like Nosara offer a quieter, more low-key environment. Most destinations can be reached by shuttle, rental car, or guided tour, making it relatively simple to plan a short trip before or after the wedding. Getting to other parts of Costa Rica is straightforward, including by short domestic flights. Airlines like Sansa Airlines and Green Airways operate small “hopper” planes that connect major destinations across the country, often cutting travel time down significantly compared to driving. Popular destinations include Arenal Volcano for hiking, hot springs, and views of the volcano; Monteverde Cloud Forest for ziplining and nature; and Manuel Antonio National Park for beaches and wildlife. These spots are some of the most visited in the country and are easy to incorporate into a longer trip before or after the wedding.

Beachfront Hotels & Rentals in Tamarindo For guests who want everything within walking distance, staying in Tamarindo itself is the easiest option. The town has many beachfront hotels, rentals and boutique inns just steps from the ocean, restaurants, shops, and nightlife. Quiet Beach Communities Nearby If you prefer a more peaceful atmosphere, several nearby beach communities offer a more relaxed environment while still being within a short drive of Tamarindo: Playa Langosta (just south of Tamarindo), Playa Grande (across the estuary, inside the natural reserve), Playa Brasilito (25 mins north, low-key Costa Rican vibe), Playa Conchal (next to Brasilito, offers upscale rentals and resorts)
