They say you should marry your best friend—and that’s exactly what Allie and Ryan are doing. Their story began in 2015 when Allie transferred to Elon University. The two met as sophomores and quickly formed a close friendship, bonding over music and the many parallels in their lives. From the start, Ryan was a steady and comforting presence—he even accompanied Allie to interviews to make sure she felt safe. For years, their relationship remained in the friend zone, though it always hovered near something more. Then in 2020, Allie lost her job in New York City just as Ryan was growing a new business in Austin, Texas. As a “COVID project,” Allie began helping Ryan build his company. Their days quickly filled with long Zoom calls—one hour of work followed by two hours of conversation and connection. In April 2021, Ryan asked Allie to be his girlfriend. They both knew the answer long before the question was asked. Since then, they’ve built a beautiful life together in Austin, surrounded by an incredible community of friends, their sweet dog Willow, and two growing businesses...
