We met in California, our first jobs after graduating from college, doing service work in a program called AmeriCorps NCCC. We were friends/co-workers, and who knows what we would be now if we hadn't gone as Barbie & Ken for Halloween, fall of 2013. We must have drunk a love potion that night because we can really only trace the beginning of our relationship back to then. Our jobs required us to travel a lot so most of our beginning was long distance- late night phone calls, trips to see each other, postcards and pictures. When the program ended we decided to stick it out and have since traveled and moved together to North Carolina, South Dakota and New York. We both love to travel, get bored easily, love sarcasm and love to annoy each other. We also both love to be right and win! We are taking bets on who is going to look the best on the wedding day, game on.

Ryan proposed on an ocean cliffside at Point Reyes National Seashore in California. This is the very same spot he first told her he loved her years before and is one of her favorite places on earth. It was the perfect day, the sun was shining, they spotted a whale jumping out of the ocean and views of the ocean and bay were surrounding them. It was perfect and of course she said YES!
